Gigabyte is working on a new dual-SIM smartphone, which will run the Android operating system v2.2 (Froyo).

Gigabyte GSmart Rola provides reasonable facilities, but still not quite at the level of a beginning of year 2011. Although use Android v2.2, hardware platform is composed of only a 528MHz processor aided by 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM respectively.

The interface is displayed on a 3.2-inch TFT display with resistive touchscreen interface and a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels.

Part of connectivity yet provides everything that might need a modern phone. We have the WiFi mode 802.11b / g Bluetooth module v2.1, HSDPA, 3G and quad-band GSM.

Multimedia options include a 3 megapixel camera with fixed focus, FM radio module slot for data storage and microSD card that supports up to 32GB capacity.

Navigation is provided by aGPS receiver and integrated digital compass.

Other facilities also include an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and image in widescreen headphones connector with 3.5mm jack and microUSB connector for data transfer to PC.

Phone with dimensions 113.5 x 60 x 13.3 mm contains a Li-Ion battery, whose capacity reaches 1260 mAh.

Gigabyte GSmart Rola will be released in early 2011 with a retail price of around 175 Euros.
